ESG updates discussed at sustainability townhall

As we continue to embed sustainability in the way we do business, we held a Sustainability Townhall for our Head office employees last July to discuss trends and insights on ESG.

The townhall was moderated by Sustainability Manager Francis Paul Bayan and featured updates on key sustainability initiatives, which include our steady transition to sustainable energy via solar panels to power our head office as discussed by Chief Procurement Officer Mark Tansiongkun. Our campaign against food waste through our food rescue program in collaboration with Scholars Of Sustenance (SOS) was discussed by SOS Philippines Director of Operations Arthur Winston Bitagcol, while Southstar Drug’s inclusive employment programs for persons with disabilities was discussed by Southstar General Manager Mariel Crisostomo. Internal Audit Head Divina Pescador also discussed our ongoing efforts to ensure complete and accurate ESG data reporting through internal and external ESG data audits, further underscoring our commitment to transparency and accountability.

A day before the townhall, we launched two new electric shuttles as part of our employee shuttle services fleet as we continue to take even more tangible steps towards minimizing our carbon footprint and advocating for sustainable transportation solutions.
