Sustainability initiatives highlighted at Gokongwei Group learning festival
At Robinsons Retail, we continue to advance our commitment to sustainability through initiatives that support communities, protect the environment, and promote responsible business practices. Our collective progress was highlighted at the Gokongwei Group Learning Festival earlier this month at Opus in Bridgetowne, Quezon City.
During the event, Sustainability Manager Francis Paul Bayan highlighted initiatives that reflect our integrated approach to sustainability. These include our Farm-to-Table program and Responsible Seafood Sourcing initiative, which connect over 2,200 farmers and fisherfolk directly to consumers, while our Super Goods campaign supports over 2,000 MSMEs.
In partnership with Scholars Of Sustenance Philippines - SOS Philippines, our food rescue program has redistributed 500,000 meals to communities in Metro Manila, reducing food waste while addressing hunger.
We have also helped expand access to affordable healthcare through TGP’s nationwide network of over 2,200 stores and our consistently expanding generics line at Southstar Drug and Rose Pharmacy.
Our Easy on the Plastic collection campaign, which empowers customers to drop off plastic bottles for recycling, continues to help reduce waste and promote a circular economy.
“We believe in sustainability as a shared responsibility and that progress shouldn’t come at the expense of our future. By becoming a sustainable business, not only do we create long term shared value for all, but we also ensure that no one truly gets left behind,” said Bayan.
