From L-R: Hope Gokongwei-Tang, General Manager of Robinsons Appliances and Savers Appliances; Michael Yelland Moon, Director, UK Trade and Investment Philippines; and Faith Gokongwei-Lim, General Manager of Costa Coffee and Chic Centre Corporation
Sporting the new look and design of its international counterparts, Costa Coffee’s flagship store opened its doors to customers in Robinsons Galleria last May 11, 2017. The debut was attended by Michael Moon of the British Embassy of Manila, officers from Robinsons Retail, and various patrons.
UK’s Favourite Coffee Shop began in 1971 with two brothers, Sergio and Bruno Costa, who dreamt of bringing their passion for coffee to the capital city and to the rest of the world. The brand has since then continuously expanded its horizons, now with over 3,000 stores across 30 countries.
Anywhere on the globe, Costa Coffee is eager to delight customers by serving fine beverages they truly deserve, #LondonStyle. Mocha Italia, the brothers’ original slow-roasted blend, was perfected at the roastery in Old Paradise Street, Lambeth, London. Up to this very moment, the same unique blend is still being served after 46 years.
The Costa Baristas
There are a lot of beverages to choose from, each handcrafted by skilled baristas who take pride in the technicalities of coffee-making. The signature Flat White has an extracted shot of Cortissimo that is then topped with textured milk, resulting in an intense and rich coffee mellowed with a velvety smooth texture. Other bestsellers are Capuccino, Latte, Café Caramella, Mocha and ice-blended Frostinos.
15 branches have so far been opened in the Philippines: the flagship store in Robinsons Galleria; Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Galleria; Robinsons Place Manila; Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Place Manila; Robinsons Selections, Venice Grand Canal; Robinsons Equitable Tower; Robinsons Summit Center; Robinsons Place Antipolo; Cyber Sigma, Taguig; Tera Tower, Bridgetown; Net Plaza, BGC; Eastwood; U.P.
