Customers will soon be able to make digital payments at select Ministop stores using GCash. Through a partnership with Mynt (Globe Fintech Innovations, Inc.), Ministop is the country’s first major convenience store chain to accept QR payments.
The cashless platform will be implemented starting with two Ministop branches at Cyberspace Alpha and Cyberspace Beta on November 23, 2017, with a target roll out to other branches in 2018. Customers will also enjoy a 10 percent rebate when they scan to pay with GCash at the pioneer stores for the whole month of December this year.

Using a QR code system, GCash allows for hassle-free transactions through a mobile app that serves as a virtual wallet for iPhone and Android smartphones. The app allows users to load funds into their account alongside a unique matrix barcode that is scanned to complete payments.
“Providing 24/7 convenience to our customers has always been our thrust. We see our partnership with Mynt as a step forward in embracing new technologies. With just a few clicks, Globe GCash’s e-payment via QR code will redefine convenience, offering seamless transactions that complement the digital lifestyle of our consumers,” said Ministop’s General Manager, Thelma Roxas- Jacob.
